Is Illegal Immigration Okay With You?
Immigration to the United States (which means that foreign nationals come to our country to become United States Citizens) is a good thing. Immigration is how most of us came here in the first place (all the way back through the history of this awesome country). We are now facing some pretty hard issues in this country about ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Illegal immigration is when a person enters this country without following the rules that WE made. Most of the time, they SNEAK into OUR country and hide, then find jobs, then send the money they make to Mexico to bring more of their family members here...again, illegally. Remember the term "ILLEGAL" - because it says it all. If we (as individuals or as a COUNTRY) had an unlimited amount of money and were NOT in an ECONOMIC CRISIS ourselves, then this issue may not be as bad as it is. But WE are at a point where WE can't afford to give our OWN benefits away to others. Each American Citizen who has worked in OUR COUNTRY has given to social security (that's where your "retirement benefits" come from - like disability when you are old) and YOU have paid your annual Federal Taxes each year. Those taxes pay for ALL the services that you receive (roads, schools, medicare, etc.). The average illegal immigrant, 90% of which are from South America (Mexico is the highest percentage of that amount), makes his money "under the table", which means that TAXES ARE NOT PAID. THEN, this worker sends a large portion of these UNTAXED monies via WESTERN UNION right back to families in FOREIGN COUNTRIES. You might think "good for them", but are you looking at the other side of the issue - the side that is about your neighbors, your community, your children? First of all, when your child leaves school, is he or she able to find work? Remember working at McDonald's or any other fast -food restaurant when you were young (first job), well forget it. The immigrants have taken MOST of those jobs. Where does that leave YOUR TAX-PAYING family? On a larger scale, when illegals receive their CASH for working (illegally I must add), this money leaves OUR COUNTRY and that helps to destabilize our economy. Mexico does NOT give to the U.S. On the other hand, the U.S. (YOUR TAX DOLLARS) have been sent to Mexico by the millions for over 20 years! That's just to HELP THEM. Each American Citizen has a say about this issue. Why? Because WE own this country. WE have had family members that have fought and have died to protect OUR WAY OF LIFE.
